Evolution is usually presented in textbooks as settled science—taught as fact from high school to university. But what if the official narrative isn't as factual as you've been led to believe? Most people don't even know that it's only a theory, and as I'm about to show you, a very weak one at that. Most people feel intellectually superior when they come across someone who believes in God because of their dogmatic belief in evolution. What do you actually know about evolution? Let's see where you stand:
These are questions that you need to know the answer to if your response to someone on where life came from is 'evolution obviously'. I could end the letter here and leave these answers for you to produce, but I'll present the evolution argument. I've likely already shown you that you believe in something you don't know much about. Which by the way, is the definition of blind faith. 'Science' has become the god of the West. The Evolution TheoryThe Earth formed about 4.5 billion years ago. After about 500 million years, the first cell appeared in the oceans. (How that first living cell came into existence is still unknown. Scientists call this “abiogenesis,” but no proven mechanism exists.) Over immense spans of time, those single-celled organisms (like bacteria) evolved into more complex single-celled life with nuclei (eukaryotes). From there, some began to cooperate, leading to the first multicellular organisms—simple things like sponges and tiny sea creatures. Gradualism then takes over: step by step, those simple multicellular organisms diversified into more complex forms, such as worms and early invertebrates, then to fish, then amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and finally humans. This is the general evolution theory. Even under this hypothesis there are huge unanswered questions.
This has never been answered by any evolutionist, ever. But let's ignore all of this, and humour the idea: A random assembly of around 1.5 million DNA letters have come together in a perfect sequence and has given us the first living cell out of nowhere for no reason. So now lets imagine a line that starts with the first cell which formed 4 billion years ago, and ends at fully formed human being at the end. Darwin's theory states that this is possible through numerous, successive, slow, step by step changes. His theory would break down if this wasn't the case. But I'll let him tell you about that: “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.” Chapter 6 of On the Origin of Species What does this mean? If you stopped at any time along the 4 billion year line it should match the expectation of where we would be in the evolution journey. Close to the human and you'd see apes etc, close to the cell you'd see bacteria, in the middle you'd see fish. A slow gradual evolution. Unfortunately for Darwin and the evolutionists, this is not what is shown in the fossil record. The Cambrian ExplosionThe biggest puzzle for Darwin’s theory is the Cambrian Explosion, which took place about 541 million years ago. For nearly 3.5 billion years before this point, life was almost entirely microscopic single-celled organisms and a few simple multicellular forms. Please stick with me, I know this is boring but you're about to learn something that dismantles the theory of evolution. Why is this important? The fossil record shows virtually nothing for 3.5 billion years. Then, within a blink of an eye (geologically speaking) in just around 25 million years (just 0.6% of life’s history), the record suddenly bursts with the appearance of complex, multicellular animals with skeletons, nervous systems, digestive systems, and specialised organs. One more time: "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down" Darwin himself accepted that sudden complexity would destroy his theory. This is exactly what the Cambrian explosion shows. One example of these advanced species found in this period is the trilobite. These species possessed eyes, organs, a skeleton, a nervous and digestive system, joints, and reproduced sexually. How could this be possible under evolution’s claim of slow, successive modifications? Where is the evolution of all these mechanisms? How has the complexity of an eye come out of nowhere? Where is the evolution of the nervous system? Where did sexual reproduction come from? We see nothing of anything even a fraction close to this for 3.5 billion years before this time. We have to see these mechanisms and traits before the Cambrian period for the theory of evolution to even be a valid theory. We don't. And this single fact is enough to break the theory. Evolutionary scientists offer several responses like rapid genetic change or undiscovered soft-bodied ancestors —but this is just speculation and doesn't solve the problem. They will switch between gradual, successive evolution theory and quick rapid evolution theory depending on what point they're arguing and who they're debating. It can't be both. There are so many other arguments that pull apart the theory of evolution, this is literally just one. If you are interested in the topic I would highly recommend this video: Islamic Response to Evolution Theory The Reality of EvolutionThere's a chilling reality about evolution that is never spoken about. Contemplate and think deeply about what I'm about to say. If you are an evolutionist, you have to, and I mean there is no avoiding this as much as you may argue otherwise, believe that there is no such thing as good and evil. This has to be your belief. You have to believe there’s no difference between the most heinous and the most kind acts. Saving a life or taking a life are the exact same thing in your worldview. Just a bunch of atoms, randomly assembled out of chaos, rearranging themselves. That’s it. They may rearrange themselves to commit murder or they may rearrange themselves to save a life. At the baseline nothing is different, just a different rearrangement. How can it be any different? That's the real implication of evolution. I know you know deep in your heart this isn't the case, I know you know that good and evil is real and can see it, feel it and can recognise it, because that's how you've been designed. And I know you know deep down — in the depths of your soul — that your great, great, great, great grandfather wasn't a snail. "And by heaven and ˹the One˺ Who built it, and the earth and ˹the One˺ Who spread it! And by the soul and ˹the One˺ Who fashioned it, then with ˹the knowledge of˺ right and wrong inspired it! Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul, and doomed is the one who corrupts it!" Surah 91:5-10

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in almost every major Western country. People are waking up and embracing it in their millions. But why? What is drawing them in? Islam is the blueprint for human success. The Reality of Trust in God True embodiment of Islam fixes all of your problems. Not in the sense that all your problems will disappear, but in the sense you have a methodology to navigate them with wisdom and resilience. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "Wondrous is the affair of the...
If you told me five years ago that I’d be writing this, I’d have laughed. I believed in science. I believed in reason. And I thought religion was the opposite of both. What if I told you there’s one religion that makes a testable claim—one that can be verified or disproven. Would you be willing to investigate it? Logic, Reason and Randomness From the moment you wake up in the morning your day consists of using logic, reason and rationality to interact with the circumstances that present...
Pre Text Before discussing my journey to Islam, I thought it would be worthwhile to lay out my intentions with this newsletter. After seeing how much Islam changed my life for the better, it became apparent to me that it's the antidote for all of the problems we see in modern culture—problems that have become so normalised that we accept them as part of our identity. A society, for the most part, that is hooked on alcohol, gambling, drugs, materialism, p*rn, video games, and endless...
