Islam is the fastest-growing religion in almost every major Western country. People are waking up and embracing it in their millions. But why? What is drawing them in? Islam is the blueprint for human success. The Reality of Trust in GodTrue embodiment of Islam fixes all of your problems. Not in the sense that all your problems will disappear, but in the sense you have a methodology to navigate them with wisdom and resilience. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for there is good for him in every matter, and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he experiences something pleasant, he is grateful, and that is good for him; and if he suffers harm, he is patient, and that is good for him."
Allah also says in the Qur'an:
"There will certainly be no fear for the close servants of Allah, nor will they grieve." (Quran 10:62) Most people oscillate between two states their entire lives: fear and grief. Fear of what the future may hold, grief over the past. A constant cycle of discontent and suffering. So how is it possible that a believer can find good in every situation and remain free from mental struggles? The answer lies in a fundamental Islamic principle: Tawakkul—placing absolute trust in Allah’s wisdom and divine plan. Once you begin operating from this state, everything changes. It is the realisation that: you're not the one in control, and the One who is, is infinitely more knowledgeable than you and has a plan for you that is far greater than any plan you could create for yourself. A paradigm shift takes place: From: Life is happening to me.
To: Life is happening for me.
No longer do you operate from a place where you believe you're a victim of circumstance, and have no control over the things that are happening around you. Instead, you begin to operate with deep presence, fully aware of what is required, with certainty that good will emerge from every situation—even when it appears otherwise. This is liberation. Allah reminds us:
"Perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you, and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you do not know." (Quran 2:216) You begin to see reality for what it truly is: a test from Allah. Every situation, every challenge, becomes a means of fulfilling His command. And in His infinite mercy, He has given you all the answers. The Blueprint for Human ExcellenceHow do we know what God's command is? We follow the instruction manual He revealed to His Prophet ﷺ, who then perfected human character as a model for all of humanity. Allah confirms this:
"Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah, you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often." (Quran 33:21) If what I am saying is true, then living as a Muslim must be the optimal operating model for a human being—physically, mentally, and spiritually. And it is. You're able to prove this yourself. If Islam is the truth:
If what I'm telling you is a lie, or I'm mistaken or have joined a cult: all of the claims above cannot be true. I urge you to try and disprove any of them. The closer you get to Islam, the better you feel. The better you feel, the closer you get to Islam. This cycle never stops. Habits Define Your LifeWhy do so many people feel bad in todays world? The answer is their habits. Negative habits → Negative thoughts → Negative actions → Negative outcomes. Almost every negative thought stems from a negative habit. Islam prohibits every habit that harms you:
Thought experiment: Imagine what would happen to your life if you removed everything that negatively affects you. If you're caught in a cycle of negative habits, you'll find yourself constantly drifting from one emotional state to the next—sadness, anxiety, fear, lust, guilt, shame and stress. If this sounds familiar you should know that you will continue experiencing only negative outcomes. You can only attract what matches your current emotional state.
"Whatever hardship befalls you is because of what your own hands have committed" (Quran 42:30) Allah explicitly tells us change must come internally before He will change the external:
"Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." (Quran 13:11) A quote from the best (non-Islamic book) I have ever read: Napoleon Hill's, Outwitting the Devil. He describes how the devil uses habits to enslave people: "The first thing I do to enslave a person is to control his habits. I gain control of people without their realising it through habits that they do not question." I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to understand the power of mastering your mindset and habits. Change your habits, and you change your life. Don't be Scared of IslamIslam offers the optimal framework for human success. It doesn’t simply tell you what to do; it explains why—and provides the tools to make it happen. If you told me five years ago that I’d be writing this, I’d have laughed. I believed in science. I believed in reason. And I thought religion was the opposite of both. What if I told you there’s one religion that makes a testable claim—one that can be verified or disproven. Would you be willing to investigate it? Logic, Reason and Randomness From the moment you wake up in the morning your day consists of using logic, reason and rationality to interact with the circumstances that present...
Pre Text Before discussing my journey to Islam, I thought it would be worthwhile to lay out my intentions with this newsletter. After seeing how much Islam changed my life for the better, it became apparent to me that it's the antidote for all of the problems we see in modern culture—problems that have become so normalised that we accept them as part of our identity. A society, for the most part, that is hooked on alcohol, gambling, drugs, materialism, p*rn, video games, and endless...
