If you told me five years ago that I’d be writing this, I’d have laughed. I believed in science. I believed in reason. And I thought religion was the opposite of both. What if I told you there’s one religion that makes a testable claim—one that can be verified or disproven. Would you be willing to investigate it? Logic, Reason and Randomness From the moment you wake up in the morning your day consists of using logic, reason and rationality to interact with the circumstances that present themselves minute by minute. Yet, when it comes to life’s biggest question—the origin of everything—we abandon that same logic. Why? If we demand proof for everything else, shouldn’t we at least demand it for our own existence? If you reject the idea of a Creator, your only alternative is that existence is random. That life came into being by pure chance. That there is no purpose of life. I think deep down, we all know this isn't true. If you opened your fridge and your mobile phone was sitting on the top shelf, would you say 'oops random chance' and move on with your day? Most likely you would use rationality and logic to conclude someone must have put your phone in the fridge. Would you buy a laptop and tell yourself 'all of these parts just randomly came together and took the form of a laptop, made its way to the store and is now in here for me to buy'? You've never seen the creator of the laptop, or the factory it was made in. But you use your logical and rational mind and know the laptop you're holding obviously had a creator, it was created and has a purpose. You believe this about every single thing you come into contact with.
Does it make sense? This is a question you need to ask yourself. You have to be willing to investigate this like it's the most important matter in your life, because it is. Here’s the truth: Randomness doesn’t actually exist. We only call something random when we don’t yet understand the equation behind it. So, if nothing is truly random in this entire universe, why would the most complex equation ever to occur—the creation of the universe—be random? Or were they created by nothing, or are they their own creators? Quran 52:35 Islamic Basics If you hold the belief that religion has to be man-made because why would there be so many, they all can't be true - that is a fair argument - and one I held. The thing about Islam, is that it confirms the other Abrahamic religions (Judaism & Christianity) as well as confirming other ancient civilisations, the existence of which is now making its way into the mainstream narrative. We believe God has sent a long line of Prophets, along with scripture, to all previous nations and civilisations, all with the same message: worship God alone. However, we also believe that after the message was revealed to previous prophets, the scripture was corrupted by the people of the time and God's commandments were altered and people began to worship idols instead of God. Idols can take the form of people, prophets, statues, celebrities, and also intangible things like money, status, career, fame and power. Which is why The Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammed ﷺ. The Quran translates to 'The Reminder'. It is certainly We Who have revealed the Reminder, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it. (Quran 15:9) Islam is Provable Beyond Reasonable Doubt Beyond a reasonable doubt: The standard of proof requiring the party with the burden of proof to demonstrate that an argument is true beyond all reasonable doubt. I will present a case on why Islam has to be true along with the corroborating evidence. Books have been written on this topic, but for the purpose of a newsletter I will condense it to two main points:
The Quran While other prophets’ miracles involved acts that could only be witnessed by those alive at the time—such as Moses splitting the sea or Jesus curing the sick (peace be upon them)—these miracles, once the prophets passed away, became historical events, making it more difficult for later generations to resonate with them. The miracle of the Quran, however, is timeless and can still be observed and experienced to this day. It is the primary reason people revert to Islam. Unlike other religious texts the Quran contains no contraction. 14 centuries of critics have passed and not a single error or contradiction has been found. Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than God, they would surely have found therein many a contradiction. Quran 4:82 Scientific Miracles In over 1400 years, despite all its advancements, science has not been able to disprove a single statement in the Quran. Not only that, modern science has confirmed dozens of scientific claims made in the Quran. I have listed the ones that convinced me this could only come from an intelligence beyond the human mind:
Edwin Hubble's discovery in 1929 revealed that the universe is expanding.
The Big Bang theory, first proposed by physicist Georges Lemaître in 1927, describes the origin of the universe as a single point of immense energy that began expanding, marking the birth of space and time.
By the early 1800s, chemists discovered that water made up the majority of living tissues.
Modern geology confirms that mountains have deep "roots" extending into the Earth's crust, much like pegs or stakes.
Modern astronomical discoveries confirm that all celestial bodies follow well-defined orbits and move in a precise, structured manner.
Oceanographers discovered that where saltwater and freshwater meet, there is an invisible barrier preventing them from fully mixing.
Modern science confirms that iron is not native to Earth. It was delivered by meteorites. Bold claims for a man in 7th-century Arabia, without any formal education, access to scientific knowledge, or technological advancements. All of them are impossible to have been known by someone of this time and era. Maybe he just randomly discovered them all? The above doesn't scratch the surface of claims that have since been proven true. Linguistic Miracles Not only has the Quran made countless scientific claims that were later proven to be true, it is also a miracle in linguistic terms. Unlike other religious texts, the Quran is in first person. It is God speaking to mankind. If you have never listened to it, here is a link to Surah Ar-Rahman:
Listen to it and close your eyes. Ask yourself: If there was a God, and He were to reveal guidance to mankind, would it sound like this? Like most people of his time, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was illiterate. Yet, the Arabic language of that era was regarded as one of the most eloquent in human history, rich in depth and beauty. The Quran epitomises this through its unparalleled linguistic precision, rhythmic flow, and profound meanings that captivate both scholars and laymen to this day. The Quran being revealed in Arabic ensured the message of God could be delivered in a concise and succinct manner, in only around 600 pages making it easy to understand and memorise. If it were revealed in English, it would have taken thousands of more pages to express the same meaning and depth. If you're not convinced, your belief has to be that a man who could neither read nor write (a historical fact) made all of this up and then managed to present it in the first person as if he were God whilst:
Maybe he randomly put it together? I haven’t even come close or done justice in explaining how miraculous this book is. Anyone who has experienced it knows that when you pick it up, you're not reading it, it’s reading you. It speaks to the circumstances unfolding in your life and guides you through them. We have certainly set forth every ˹kind of˺ lesson for people in this Quran, so perhaps they will be mindful. Quran 39:27 You Now Have the Burden of Proof If this were a court case, and one side just presented hundreds of pieces of irrefutable evidence, you’d have no trouble using your logical and rational mind to accept it as the truth. To dismiss this without a counterargument isn’t rational. At this point, you have two options: 1) Dismiss this without investigation—but admit that’s not how you approach any other serious topic in your life. 2)Look deeper, challenge your assumptions, and see where the evidence actually takes you. Pre Text Before discussing my journey to Islam, I thought it would be worthwhile to lay out my intentions with this newsletter. After seeing how much Islam changed my life for the better, it became apparent to me that it's the antidote for all of the problems we see in modern culture—problems that have become so normalised that we accept them as part of our identity. A society, for the most part, that is hooked on alcohol, gambling, drugs, materialism, p*rn, video games, and endless...
